The Leather Awards are not decided by popularity alone. Every candidate moves through a full evaluation process before a single public vote is cast. Here is exactly what that looks like - and what you're agreeing to when you accept a nomination.
June 1st - 250 Words Due
20% of final score
Before the field narrows, we want to hear from you directly. Submit 250 words about who you are and about your journey as a leather person, family, pet, or healslut. This is not a campaign pitch. It is not a highlight reel. It is an honest account of your path - where you started, what you've learned, and what this identity means to you. Our judge panel reads every submission before candidates are narrowed to the Top 6.Write it like it matters. Because it does.
August - Private Interviews with the Judge Panel
20% of final score
The Top 6 candidates in each category will meet privately with our judge panel. This is a conversation, not an interrogation - but it is a substantive one. Judges want to understand your dynamic, your values, and your relationship to the leather community beyond what's visible from the outside. Be prepared to give honest answers.
End of September - Community Service Evaluation
20% of final score
We will assess the community service each candidate has exhibited throughout 2026. This isn't about the volume of events you've been to, but the impact you've made at them. How have you shown up for people? What have you contributed to the spaces you inhabit? What does the community look like because you were in it this year? These scores will be announced publicly when the Final 3 are revealed.
October - Public Vote
20% of final score
The community has a voice in this. Once the Final 3 are announced, voting opens alongside the rest of the DEGEN Awards ballot. This is your opportunity to tell us who has moved you, challenged you, or made this community better by being in it.
Saturday, October 24th - The Live Panel
20% of final score
The night of the awards, finalists will face one final challenge: a live panel in front of the community. This is the last thing that happens before winners are announced. It is your final opportunity to stand in front of the people who have watched you all year and make your case - not with a speech, but in conversation. Real questions. Real answers. No script.This is what separates the Leather Awards from everything else on the ballot. The winner isn't just someone the community loves. They're someone who can hold the weight of the title in the room where it's given.
What You're Agreeing To
When you accept a Leather Award nomination, you must be committed to the full process - the 250 words, the private interview, the community service evaluation, the public vote, and the live panel. These are not optional steps. They are the award.If that feels like a lot - good. It should. This title should feel like something.

Their ability to hold a room, read a guest, and make the people around them better. We called it Escorts of Eorzea - and the community it built is part of why we're still here.This Year - for our Magazine's 5 year anniversary - It's back.
What is the Escorts of Eorzea Pageant?
Escorts of Eorzea will run alongside the 2026 DEGEN Awards cycle. Think RuPaul's Drag Race - hosted at GLiTCH opens, structured around challenges that test the full spectrum of what a court actually is. Every "episode" has a mini challenge, a main challenge, and a fashion runway. Every episode is critiqued. Every score matters.This is not just a pageant. This is not a popularity contest. This is a competition that asks you to show up, every time, and prove it.
Who Competes?
All nominated Courtesan candidates. Participation is not optional - it is part of your evaluation. If you've been nominated and you want to be taken seriously for this award, this is where you start.
How does it connect to the awards?
Competition scores feed directly into your Courtesan evaluation across both assessment phases. Your performance here is part of how the award is decided - not the whole picture, but a significant one.Additionally, after the final competition, the community will vote for their Escorts of Eorzea Fan Favorite - and crown Eorzea’s Most Eligible Escort, announced at Awards Weekend.
